Remarks & recommendations

Kindly note following remarks/recommendations:

Q4 Which is more likely to yield interpretation consistent
with intent of original authors?
God revealed himself (Himself) & intentions ot (of) mankind

through Hebrew scriptures/Israel discovered Yahweh on own
through reflecting on thei (their) struggle in Egypt &
wandering in desert/Hebrew scriptures represent
evolutionary process in Israel’s theology reflecting onthe

(on the) person of God.

Q5 Which assumption more likely yields interpretation
consistent with intent of original authors?
Since Bible is intended to be practical, interpretation by
modern student is what original author intended(this would

be important for contents to be made
understandable)/interpretation must be governed by biblical
text itself(this would also be a primary
consideration/Bible can only be understood by believer(I
chose this option, which proved to be incorrect, as belief

implies taking God at His Word).

Q6 What is implied by Message of OT is theological?
OT held value for Jews’ understanding of God, but offers
little meaning to Christian/Man’s search for meaning about

God & His work comes mainly from man’s reflection on
ultimate concerns about life, suffering & death(My
interpretation of this optin as correct proved to be
incorrect.)/OT concerns include Israel’s faith, as

expressed in relation with God.

Q12 For greatest assurance of getting right meaning from
OT one should forget perceived meanings of past perceptions
& see true(I mistakenly considered this statement as

correct as it is common knowledge that to obtain meaning
existing knowledge should be tied in with new
ideas)/begin by constructing propositions to be proved.
(Actually these are both correct, since in research a

hypothesis is first formulated to be proved or disproved
whereafter meanings and perceptions are taken into

Q14 What is theological about Genesis 1?
Sevenfold use of hte(the) word “good”/…

Q15 At this question the network could not detect settings
and I had to refresh and push back arrow to return to
original page.
The option I chose here as incorrect, being man & woman’s
solidarity with natural order as important emphasis of

scriptures, turned out to be correct, by default.

Q17…carry out his(His)

Q18…revealed himself(Himself)

Q19…God’s might(mighty) acts

Q20 Passover, first day of WEEK-LING Feast…(Observed on

14th day of 1rst month)

Q27 What role did Yahwah(Yahweh)…

Q28 Covenant renewal exercise at Joshua’s farewell
indicated Israel was still paid(paying) homeage to other
gods/at this point devoted to Jehovah.(Although I consider

latter option to be correct, it was marked as incorrect.
Kindly query.

Q29 WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM with Israel’s demand for king?
Rejected Sameul as God’s appointed leader/Nono(No one) was
yet qualified to lead them as king/They rejecterd Yahweh as

Q30 Mark incorrect: Jeremiah spoke of time when God would
establish new covenant that would include forgiveness of
sins/involve placing laws in heart(well, this DID seem to
be msot likely incorrect option, as it would be abiding

laws by having faith in the heart)/be re-institution of Law
of Moses/be realized after God re-gathered people from

Q39 According to 1 Chronicles 17:4-14: what is most
important? Yahweh directs own purposes/David is

obedient/Yahweh is worthy of having temple built.(I chose
the latter as it is true that Yahweh directs His own
purposes and that Davivd is obedient, however the fact that
Yahweh is worthy of having His temple built is symbolic of

Yahweh directing own purposes).

Q41 In Ezra 10, central theological thought is:
Leaders have responsibility for determining action/God’s
laws are demanding/spiritual relationship with God is
threatened by unfaithful bahaviour/God commanded people

pray and confess.(I considered prayer and cofession as the
central theological thought, as Israel needed to hear call
for repentance and confession.)

Q45 Event in Israle’s history – prefigured redemption

associated with Jesus in NT: Conquest of Canaan/building
of temple(I chose building of temple as option as the word
pre imlies leading to or aforegoing of)/Exodus/giving of
Law at Sinai.

Q51 Here I checked on numbering although anwers as were

entered before were not alterd and returned to 52.

Q56 Nature of God first seen in self-revelation & then
illustrated by miracles(I chose miracles as God could not
reveal Himself prior to having created people, thus

creation could not have been an
alternative)/creation/concrete acts of people.

Q57 Mark correct: Speculation in OT on origin of
God(Although I considered this option as correct, I must
conced that the origin of God could not be speculted on.)

Q58 Mark incorrect: OT presents creation as:
ordered to work towards end God planned for it(God created
universe to serve His purpose – our hope is in His
sovereign power. All right, I noticed I should have marked

the incorrect option and not the correct option)/intended
to glorify God/evil/good.

Q64 Central section of Israel’s history (from David to
exile of Judah) presents affirmations about God. Mark
response that was NOT ONE of these affirmations: Yahweh

cared little for external rituals in absence of practical
soc. obedience(I would assume taht thse two would be
interrelated.)/expressed little concerns for nations, other
than Israel, sovereign control/commit

Q67 Israel’s unique historical experience was designed to
impress uniqueness of God &: lead to healthy living/fear
Him to extent – keep commandments(although healthy living
is important a unique feature was spiritual well being in

keeping commandments and Yahweh does not reserve Himself to
Israel alone)/make clear Yahweh not known by any people
except Israel.

Q68 Statement least represents ideal of OT values: Ritual
takes presedence over human service/God comes first/persons

matter more than things/needs matter more that rights(The
latter seems to me to be least representative as placing
needs over rights encourages corruption and selfishness
which is in direct opposition to OT values.

Kind regards
